• It is the process of formation of millions of gas bubbles in the irir-gation solution. These gas bubbles grow in size, oscillate in differ-ent directions and explode into the liquid,producing powerful cleaning action.

• It is a unidirectional flow of liquid produced by ultrasonic waves. Move-ment of tip produces special effect called acoustic turbulence which accelerates the movement in liquid inside the root canal

Smear Layer Removal

• Effective in removal of smear layer and unplugging of dentinal tubules.

Dentin Chips Removal

• Ultrasonic agitation forrms suspension of residual dentinal chips and tissue remnants with rrigant and facilitates their easy removal.

Biofilm Disruption

• Ultrasonic cavitation disrupts the biofilm and helps to reduce bacteria load in the canal.

Cleaning of Complex Anatomy

• Ultrasonic activation helps rrigants to flush into undetected or un-in-strumented canal anatomy like isthmus, fins, lateral canals,apical rami-fication etc. Also helps to remove vapour lock.

• Prepare the root canal up to required size with the help of shaping and finishing instruments.

• Choose the desired disinfectant and flushing agents for cleaning, debriderment and disinfection of canals.

• Fill the chosen iriation solution into the canal, never run Utra X without rrigating solution.

• Select the Utra X tip of desired size and length which passively fits into canal, always keep 2 - 3mm short of apex.

• Activate solution using short vertical up & down strokes for 30 seconds. Be careful to not breach apical 2mm.

• Use the device gently and never apply pressure or wedge the tip inside the canal. If any points of resistance, then retrieve the ultrasonic tip.

• Replenish the rrigating solution, use suction to remove the loose debris.

• Repeat the cycle 4 to 5 times.

• Completely dry the canal and fl it with choice of obturation material.

• It is always recommended to isolate the tooth using rubber dam and use personal protective barriers like head gear mask, eyeglasses etc.
